Housing and the climate crisis

November 2 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join members of Extinction Rebellion, the Southwark Planning Network and Southwark Law Centre to discuss coordinated campaigning over housing and the environment.

The built environment is one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions and represents a significant challenge if we are to meet energy targets to save our environment. Local campaigners have also long been highlighting the damage to people and communities by profit-driven, overpriced private developments and demolition of social housing.

This meeting aims to bring together legal experts as well as campaigners on planning and the environment, to coordinate our efforts to stop damaging over-development and fight for the environmentally sustainable and affordable housing we need.

Southwark Law Centre will do an introduction on ‘Demystifying planning for environmental justice campaigners’.

XR activists will outline the key environmental impacts of planning and construction processes.

All welcome. Please register your attendance to ensure we can cater for everyone attending. If you have specific access requirements please contact the organisers directly on 07834828292
