The London School of Economics (LSE) are proposing a mixed use regenereation of the warehouse on the corner of Glengall Road and Bianca Road.
The development could include community and commercial uses on the ground floor, with new housing for our students above.
This will be the first time that the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) will have developed in the immediate area, and we believe the School can do much to improve the site, making an exciting contribution to the local community and enhancing the surrounding area.
The LSE are consider the ground floor space an important part of the proposals, and we have asked LSE Generate, the team dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship with real-world community benefits, to develop some exciting ideas.
The LSE would enormously value your input to develop these ideas, so that they can ensure that the proposals align with your priorities and hopes for the area.
The proposed student housing above will also be owned by the School and will provide much-needed affordable accommodation for students that is currently in very short supply.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the leading social science universities and a world-leading centre for research and education.
They currently have approximately 11,100 students in London studying a range of social sciences courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The School has a strong history in Southwark, working with local communities to create and support much-used public spaces, and are committed to the future of the Borough, its residents and businesses.
This will be the first time that the School will have developed in the immediate area, and the selection of Glengall Road hopefully shows our strong belief and commitment to the Old Kent Road area.
LSE believe they can do much to improve and open up the site, making an exciting contribution to the local community and enhancing the surrounding area.
